"IF YOU CAN KEEP YOUR HEAD WHEN ALL ABOUT YOU ARE LOSING THEIRS...

...and blaming it on you...Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it."
(Joseph) Rudyard Kipling

This week I want to introduce you to another Esty artist who has a strong following for her laugh-out-loud funny planters in her Etsy store. She goes by Clayflower22 and lives in the El Paso area. As a retired high school art teacher, she finally gets to spend her time playing with clay, drawing on the computer and gardening. Other interests that she has are watching old movies (film noir) and collecting hands.

"A few years ago I was given a box of unfinished doll heads that my friend received from a doll maker’s estate sale. I used some of the heads for still-life set ups in the classroom and the rest I placed in my garden. The following Spring, plants were growing from the doll heads. I decided then that doll heads would make strange and interesting planters."

Each one of her doll head planters has a name and they introduce themselves to the viewer. She enjoys making hybrids out of the doll heads by using a body form from one doll and a different head to create an unusual looking doll. Stop by her Etsy store at http://www.clayflower22.etsy.com/. You will enjoy browsing and you're sure to get a laugh at the whimsy in her shop!!!

Thanks for coming back again and again...I just love to find talented people. Drop me a line if you know someone that's exceptional and would like to be in my blog. The weather is exceptional here in Hawaii of late. We took a stroll around the neighborhood with Chuy and enjoyed the new Spring flowers everywhere. We are blessed to be sure. Mahalo!!!
