"THE DOG IS A GENTLEMAN;...

I hope to go to his heaven, not man's." ~Mark Twain, letter to W.D. Howells, 2 April 1899

Meet "Jewel." I fell in love with Jewel who is modeling a sweater made by her owner and friend, Esse. After sending an email to tell her how cute her little girl is, I got one of the best laughs I've had in a long time. Esse explained that Jewel is a 20 year-old little bulldog who sits quietly in the corner of her den. She bought her from a little boutique! Yes, Jewel is a statute!

Esse K. is from Chicago and has been drawn to working with yarn ever since she was a very young girl of 8 or 9 years of age, with the help of a neighbor who told her the difference between knit and purl. Once her three daughters were raised and on their own, she turned her attention again to knitting, crocheting and most recently (and by far not least) felting! She states, "I can't live without it...it might be called a high-fiber addiction!"

There is something else that's very special about Esse - she is a breast cancer survivor and the name Never Felt Better came to her after she discovered how much she enjoys felting. "It seemed perfect for my circumstances," she says.

She had sold a number of handmade items online, and was directed toward Etsy by some of her customers. They told her that her work would be well-received and appreciated there. Esse explains, "It's been such a positive experience for me meeting wonderful people." For me too, Esse. Thanks.

Please take the time to stop by her store at http://www.ekneverfeltbetter.etsy.com/
