"ANYONE'S LIFE TRULY LIVED...

...consists of work, sunshine, exercise, soap, plenty of fresh air, and a happy contented spirit." Lily Langtree

Meet Maria Pozo who is originally from Chile and has lived in Houston, Texas since the early 1980's. Maria caught my eye with her very edgy spats and corsets. Her corsets are fabulous in eye-popping colors and styles.

You can almost smell and hear the Old West and Lily Langtree. I told her I wish I was still in my 20's and could wear her awesome one-of-a-kind spats. She told me you don't have to be 20 to wear them. I'll let YOU decide. Maria knew she wanted to design clothing at a young age, and has always been greatly inspired by the past. "I like to make pieces that become special to those who buy them." When sketching out her then current line, she drew "boot tops" that went past the knee with grommets and lacing "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way up", but didn't have time to make them. She drew shorter ones in her sketches - more like spats and has been on a roll ever since!

Maria has a store at Etsy
http://www.mariapozo.etsy.com/, but also sells her beautiful items at trunkshows and in boutiques. She explains that there are other people making spats for a lower price, but she commits to a high-quality product and the binding she does is so labor-intensive that they are beyond compare. Wander on through her store pardner and see if you don't find her work amazing too!

That's it for this week. At the request of some customers I have dedicated my long weekend to some wonderful new dream glasses sachets - with beautiful designer silks and taffetas...hope you enjoy them and see you soon with a new fabulous artist. Until then - Mahalo and have a FIERCE day!!
