Welcome to my new blog all the way from beautiful Blue Hawaii!! Pull up a chair, sit back with a cuppa and enjoy. I have recently joined a website called Etsy.com. It's been both rewarding and a challenge in learning new ways to market my creations. There is so much talent to be admired (and purchased) at Etsy.com.
My mother showed me the fading craft of Victorian Ribbonwork a few years back and I loved it right off. Now, I have crafted most of my life in one medium or another, but there's something to be said for a skill that is rare and over-the-top gorgeous! I'm grateful to her for the direction she has gently nudged me in. Creativity just happens...it could be a picture or sound that you've heard that inspires you, or a memory of something gone by. I am learning more and more to just let that process happen and stay out of the way! I hope you like the results.

This week I received an order of beautiful new purse frames for my Victorian bag collection. I am excited about the shapes and colors of the new bags they will become a part of. I sold the pretty black velvet bag with leaves (shown above) last week to a lovely lady in British Columbia who tells me that she bought it as a gift and can't part with it! What great validation that is for me...thanks for your kind words, Bev!

A gift of having a store at Etsy is meeting several talented artists from around the globe. There's a fabulously talented lady named Carol Maclaren in the UK who does colorful and breath-taking things with sculptured felts and handcrafted findings that look like tiny faces! Join Carol on a magical journey through her brooches and bags in her store at http://www.ingeniouslycreative.etsy.com/ there are a few photos of her work (below) and I'm sure you'll agree that her talent is hypnotic! I know her work first-hand since I own a little tapestry business card holder she crafted. It's gorgeous - and has the lovely face of a "Mystic Queen" on the front.
